NSW 190/491 criteria announced + VIC Nominations opened

NSW government published their criteria for SC 190/491 Nominations including the NSW Skills lists.

To qualify for SC 190 Nomination, the applicant must:

• be currently employed in their nominated occupation in NSW, or

• be residing in NSW for at least 6 months, or

• be offshore, for at least 6 months

• have occupation on NSW Skills list for 190 visa

There are 3 pathways how to qualify for SC 491 Nomination.

Pathway 1 - be currently employed with NSW regional employer for the past 6 months in the nominated occupation, and being paid TSMIT salary level.

There are several occupations which can qualify for TSMIT concessions such as Restaurant Manager, Cook, Chef, Motor Mechanic or Veterinary Nurse.

Pathway 2 - be invited for the Nomination and meet the residency criteria:

• be currently employed in their nominated occupation in NSW, or

• be residing in NSW for at least 3 months, or

• be offshore, for at least 3 months

• have occupation on NSW Skills list for 491 visa

Pathway 3 - for recent graduates from regional NSW University with Bachelor or higher degree. The candidates must also meet residency requirements as in Pathway 2 and have occupation on the NSW Skills list.

Pathway 1 and 3 applications can be lodged directly, however they are not yet opened.

VIC has opened their FY 25/26 Nominations and Registration of Interests (ROIs) whilst receiving a small interim allocation of nomination places.

There is no specific occupation list and all occupations on the relevant skills lists can be considered.

The applicants for SC 190 Nomination must be living in VIC or overseas, and for SC 491 Nomination is it required that the candidates live and work in regional VIC or live offshore.

ROI is required for both visa options and only selected ROIs can proceed with applying for VIC Nomination.
