Victoria State Nominations for skilled visas reopen on 05 January 2021

Following the NSW announcement, Victoria published their revised criteria for 190/491 Nominations.


Victoria’s full 2020-21 skilled visa nomination program will reopen on Tuesday, 5 January 2021.



Like the interim program, the full program responds to challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, with a focus on Victoria’s health response and economic recovery.


Victoria was allocated a total number of 2500 places for SC 190 visa (including those for interim allocation) and 1043 place for SC 491 Regional visa.


Nomination criteria changes


To be eligible to be considered for selection to apply for Victorian skilled visa nomination, you must meet the criteria outlined below:


Subclass 190 visa:

  1. Already be living in Victoria

  2. Already be working in Victoria (minimum 6 months employment)

  3. Work in a highly skilled occupation in health, medical research or life sciences which supports Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response.

Subclass 491 visa:

  1. Already be living in regional Victoria

  2. Already be working in regional Victoria (minimum 3 months employment)

  3. Work in a highly skilled occupation in health, medical research or life sciences which supports Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response.

You must register your interest on Live in Melbourne and be selected to apply for Victorian visa nomination.


Victoria will only accept ROIs lodged within the submission windows. Invitations to apply for Victorian skilled visa nomination are made on each selection day. If you are not selected immediately after your submission window, your ROI will still be considered on future selection days. Submission windows can be found here
