WA Skilled visa Nominations for 2022/23

WA government announced changes to its migration program to support skilled workers looking to migrate to Western Australia including increasing number of eligible occupations by around 60 per cent.

The occupations are on Schedule 1, Schedule 2 or Graduate occupation list and different requirements apply.

Further changes to WA Skilled migration program include:

  • Removal of the requirement to demonstrate sufficient funds for WA State nomination.

  • Reduction in the English requirements for applicants at the Manager and Professional occupation level to the "competent" level of English.

For Schedule 1 occupations, applicants are required to demonstrate at least 1 year of work experience (can be onshore or offshore); and have an employment contract from employer in WA in the nominated occupation (only for 190 visa).


Schedule 2 occupations do not require evidence of work experience.


For graduate pathway, the applicants must demonstrate evidence of 2 years studies in WA.


Applicants currently residing in WA will be given preference to those residing interstate or overseas.


The Nomination application process is invitation based and WA will be selecting applicants based on their EOIs with invitation rounds expected to be the third week of every month.
